Richard Tuffs has been the European Policy Manager for West Midlands in Europe – the Brussels representation for the West Midlands region. since February 2007. He specializes in Research and Development, innovation and the Lisbon Strategy. Prior to joining the West Midlands, Richard was Deputy Head of the Kent County Council Brussels Office. Richard started his career in town planning in the UK before moving into teaching and joining the Free University of Brussels and followed this with coordinating the Brussels operations for the UK’s Open University. Over the years he has obtained a bachelor degree in social sciences, and postgraduate degrees in town planning, applied linguistics and business administration.
