Flavio Delbono

Vice President of the Regional Government of Emilia-Romagna

Mr Flavio Delbono is Vice President of the Regional Government of Emilia-Romagna and councillor for Finances and European Affairs. He was born in 1959 and lives in Bologna, the Emilia-Romagna capital. He graduated in Economics at the University of Parma (1982) and has a PhD in Economics from  the University of Siena (1986) and a PhD in Economics form the University of Oxford (1988). He is currently Professor of Economics at the University of Bologna and member of the Academic Council of the Johns Hopkins of Bologna, where he have been teaching since 1987.

Before joining the University of Bologna, he held academic positions at the University of Verona and Modena. He has been visiting professor at Brown University (USA) and London School of Economics (UK). He is author of about 100 publications in national and international professional journals and several books. His main interests focus on industrial organization, public economics, poverty and inequality.

From 1995 to 1999 is served the city of Bologna as Deputy Mayor for Budget and Utilities. Since 2000 he is a member of the Regional Government of Emilia-Romagna. He is currently substitute member of the Committee of the Regions
